Tesla Model Y & 3 Getting New Suspension?

Are the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3 getting a new suspension? This rumor has been sticking around for quite some time now, but new details have immured giving new life to the claim.

The Tesla Model Y and Model 3 have long been shipped with a standard coil suspension. Although this is nothing notable, there appears to be some new details suggesting an air suspension or an adaptive suspension are coming to the 2 entry level Teslas.

During a teardown from Sandy Munro, we got a close look at what appeared to be a structural cavity to support air tanks in the future. Elon Musk has repeatedly dismissed claims that an air suspension was coming to the Tesla Model Y.

Well, following the latest news, the owners manual for the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3 now show the icon for an adjustable suspension. The Model X and Model S both feature a similar icon and do indeed come with an air ride suspension.

So what does this all mean? Well, as with all things Tesla, we will know for sure soon enough.
