IIMR January 2022 update: 'A monetary analysis of inflation risks in 2022/23'. By Tim Congdon.

IIMR January 2022 update: 'A monetary analysis of inflation risks in the main advanced economies in 2022 and 2023'. By Professor Tim Congdon, Chairman of IIMR.

Professor Congdon presents the IIMR's central forecasts for inflation in leading economies in the range of 5%-10% inflation rates in the next two/three years, due to the excess in money balances created by leading central banks since March 2020, which has been more pronounced in the USA as compared with the UK or the Eurozone. Central banks will need to bring monetary growth down to 4% - 5% per year, in order to return to their definition of price stability, around 2% year on year.
