Surprising my dad with adult adoption papers!

Did you know adult adoption was a thing? I didn't. But when I found out, I knew that I wanted my step dad, who has been a part of my life for over 15 years, to officially adopt me. Apparently, they asked when I was younger if I wanted to be adopted, but I didn't understand and said no. (I don't remember this happening, but whatev.) But I've wanted to be adopted since high school, but just never thought to bring it up. When I turned 18, I thought that was it. Then I saw something on Facebook about adult adoption and knew I had to go for it! Over the years, he has helped me and lifted me up in more ways than I could ever say. There's no way I could ever repay all he's done for me, but this is one small way to say how much I love him. After all, he is my dad. ^__^

(By the way, the front of the card says, "Dear Dad, thanks for being my dad. If I had a different dad, I would EAT HIS FACE, and go find you. Love, your daughter, Rachel." Complete with a hand drawn raptor. And yes, I did take the saying from a mug I saw online. I thought hand drawing it would be more special.)
