Managing a Cattleya with Rapidly Spreading Infection

This cattleya suffered some sunburn when moved to this brighter location a few weeks ago. An infection - likely bacterial - has rapidly progressed overnight in this plant and extended beyond the leaf to the pseudobulb on two of the canes.

This is how I've decided to manage the plant. Of course there are many solutions, but the rot must be removed regardless. I've chosen to leave the remaining pseudobulb, seal the wound and cross my fingers. I will, of course, watch my plant very closely in the meantime.

Remember to always sterilize your tools AFTER working with rot as well.
