Simulating the erection procedure of the Asymptotic gridshell
This video shows a small model of an asymptotic gridshell that was used understand the erection procedure of the full scale structure that was later built. This shows us the night before the workshop where we are discussing different alternatives of how to push or pull the structure up from flat state.
An asymptotic gridshell is a structure where the members are following the asymptotic lines of a surface. The mathematical meaning is that the curves has no normal curvature on the surface. The practical meaning is that it can be built using flat and planar laths.
