Getting a sprained ankle certainly is something that all of us want to avoid. When the ankle is injured like that, it can impact our ability to walk and affect us for a long period of time after, even once we think our body has fully healed. So we want to do everything we can to reduce the chances of this injury and continuing ankle pain.

A natural muscle imbalance exists in your foot that can potentially increase your chances of getting an ankle injury. This imbalance exists between the inverters and everters of your ankle, in which the inverters are stronger. Many people, however, never really workout their everters. This can potentially lead to something like a twisted ankle injury down the road. One is particularly susceptible if they wear high heels, where the ankle is pointed down and one isn't as balanced.

An effective way to correct this muscle imbalance is to workout your everters. You can do this through a simple band exercise. By strengthening your peroneals, you will be less likely to get a rolled ankle injury and the negative consequences that result from that. So try this ankle exercise out and let me know what you think!
