Copper & Cask has quickly become one of my favorite independent bottlers showing up in Indiana. Between their transparency, detailed blending information, and consistently strong releases, they've earned a lot of goodwill from me. This Cigar Blend Bourbon takes an already solid MGP foundation and layers it with four different finishing casks to create something incredibly rich and flavorful.

• Age/ABV: 8 Years Old | 57.8% ABV (115.6 Proof) | Blend of High-Rye & Low-Rye MGP Bourbon finished in Armagnac, Cognac, Tawny Port, and Sherry casks.

• On the Nose: Dark figs, stewed grapes, raisins, berry preserves, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, oak, and a touch of herbal rye spice.

• On the Taste: Stewed pears, plum, blackberry, raspberry compote, chocolate cake, cinnamon, clove, dark oak, and lingering Armagnac sweetness.

• Grade: A-.

This is exactly what I want from a cigar blend bourbon. The finishing casks add layers of rich fruit and dessert-like sweetness, but the bourbon itself never disappears. The rye spice keeps everything balanced, and the Armagnac influence on the finish adds another dimension that keeps you coming back for more.

At around $65, this feels like a tremendous value considering the age statement, barrel-proof presentation, and complexity in the glass. If you're a fan of fruit-forward finished bourbons, this is one worth hunting down.
