Whenever the issue of forest degradation arises, people usually blame urbanization and industrialization mainly, but there is another reason and responsible behind the degradation of forests, which no one talks about. This reason is agriculture. Due to increasing demand for land for agriculture, forests are being cut at a rapid rate every year. According to a satellite mapping study, about 6 million trees disappeared from farms in three years. The problem of increasing demand for agriculture and rapid depletion of forest areas across the world has become a matter of deep concern. In this article, we will discuss the loss of forests due to farming in detail, covering its historical, social, economic, and environmental aspects.
