SmartGuide integrates Chatbot directly into the app

Chatbots are intuitive so they are becoming popular amongst travelers used to plan their trip.
But there are 3 problems when a traveler just asks ChatGPT what to do in your destination.
Firstly, because neural networks behind chatbots cluster related information together, every traveler gets similar recommendations even though differently worded. So chatbots lead travelers to the same overcrowded places. Check out the example on the slide prompting ChatGPT4o about a trip to Pilsen. I got recommended to visit for 1 to 2 days visiting the most obvious tourist attractions. Try it yourself, you will most likely get the same recommendations.
Second problem is that even if you train gen-AI chatbots on pure facts, their architecture implies that they can hallucinate and extrapolate facts into a complete nonsense about the places in your destination. You don't want a hallucinating chatbot guiding your visitors, do you?
Third, the output is usually a simple text which is not very convenient for a traveler to use.How would I use this outpt now practically to visit Pilsen? It is quite cumbersome.

Firstly, SmartGuide automatically appends user interest profile to user's prompt so that each users gets different customized recommendations … which helps to disperse the crowds. The app knows I love nature and travel usually with kids. So it recommends I visit the ZOO and other places that are not as frequented by travelers. Notice, that it also recommends I stay 2-3 days instead of the generic ChatGPT that only had recommendations for 1-2 days. It makes sense, because I would spend probably at least ald a day in the ZOO alone. Longer stays make traveling more sustainable and destinations benefit more.
Second, when there is vetted destination content available, from the DMO, the chatbot links to such description of places instead of having Generative AI make it up. So the information I get about Pilsen ZOO was actually written by the Pilsen tourism board.
Thirdly, the content is enhanced with geolocation, photographs, opening hours and other useful data, but also with audio recordings. the ability to bookmark places or navigate to them. This makes the output more usable.
