THE FISH EXPERIMENT: Surfing A Twin For A Week

Here are 3 things I learned from one week surfing a twin fin fish up here on Sydney's northern beaches. I enjoy surfing on my fish. It makes me appreciate the fundamentals and emphasise the important techniques which surfing is based on.

Interestingly, I find that it seems to enhance my backhand surfing in particular. Surfing a twin fin can be a joyful experience. It's challenging, sure, because going from a high performance shortboard with the inherent state of mind that chases bigger, faster and more radical is quite a stark difference to the slower, more intuitive and more flow-like approach required on a fish.
