San'an performed by Yokoyama Katsuya 横山勝也

This koten honkyoku is performed by Yokoyama Katsuya on a 2.4 shakuhachi. The original recording was on a traditional Japanese music compilation CD entitled, "Nippon no Hibiki."

It was this very recording that changed the course of my life! It was given to me by a fellow piano major at the Crane School of Music, because she knew I had an interest in Japanese culture and music. Who knew I would end up taking workshops, classes, and even a private lesson with Yokoyama sensei.
