How to Use Green Screen in CapCut PC - Remove Green Screen 2025 Chroma Key

In this video I show you how to use green screen in CapCut PC. There are a few options when it comes to using a green screen. If you are looking to use a green screen effect but don’t have a green screen, then you will want to use the custom removal effect. This allows you to select a subject that you want to apply the green screen on, everything else will be removed from the video. This is similar to the green screen effect seen in TikTok videos and other short form content. While the custom removal option does give a more previse green screen effect on many videos, it’s still always better to use an actual green screen if possible.

If you want to remove a green screen in CapCut then you will need to use the chroma key effect. Using a green screen will help you get a cleaner mask around the person or subject in your video. Although using a green screen is the traditional method, you can use other colored backgrounds if you wish. When you enable the chroma key effect in CapCut you will be able to select the background color you want to remove. Doing so allows you to select whatever color background is used in your video.

In some cases your green screen won’t take up the whole background of the video. To fix this you can crop out the sides of your video that don’t get removed with the green screen. You can crop a video by selecting crop ratio from the toolbar. Once done you can then drag in the sides to crop out anything not removed, then click the Confirm button to make your changes.

Once you have removed the green screen from your video you may want to adjust your video to match the new background. This will help blend the video into a new background if you are using the green screen effect to change your background. The easiest way to blend your subject into the background is to use the color match effect in the Adjust panel. Doing so will allow you to select a frame that you want to match your green screen video to. Once done an effect will be added to your green screen video to match your chosen background and frame. Additionally, you can adjust the Intensity slider to make it look better. Alternatively, you can manually change the Adjust settings to match your green screen video to the background.
