Aconteceu no meio da "Use Your Illusion Tour" do Guns N' Roses, promovendo seus álbuns" Use Your Illusion I e II", e entre "Wherever We May Roam Tour" e "Nowhere Else to Roam" do Metallica, promovendo seu quinto álbum homônimo do Metallica. O ato de abertura da turnê foi Faith No More. Axl Rose queria que a banda de rock de Seattle, Nirvana, fosse o ato de abertura, mas o vocalista Kurt Cobain recusou.
