5 Common Things Overthinkers Will Recognise | Is Overthinking A Mental Illness?
Is overthinking a mental disorder? No, overthinking it's not a recognised mental disorder alone, it's usually commonly associated with other mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. It's also a warning sign to watch out for, because it can make stress, anxiety and depression worse.
Overthinking isn’t the same as healthy problem-solving. Problem-solving consists of thinking about a difficult situation when necessary. Overthinking, on the other hand, involves dwelling on the problem thinking about everything you don’t have control over, and then dwelling on how bad you feel about it. It just leaves you stuck in your head.
So, it’s important to spot the warning signs, in this video I share 5 things overthinkers do to help you recognise the signs and I’ll share another resource that will help you break the cycle of overthinking too so you can stop that cycle of negative thinking.
In this video, I also talk about how overthinkers have problems sleeping. If that sounds familiar, check out my video: How To Stop Worrying And Fall Asleep (A Process To Develop A Calmer Mind At Bedtime) here: https://youtu.be/NBFDVCDTn40
