House Lawmakers Meet With Families of Hamas Hostages

Members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia are holding a roundtable with some family members of individuals being held hostage by Hamas. A truce between Israel and Hamas, now in its 6th day, has led to the release of 81 hostages — approx 159 people are still estimated to be held in Gaza, according to an Israeli military official, via CNN. The Biden administration believes 8 or 9 more Americans are still being held, per National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby.
