a second part to some commonly misused + confused terms! 👋 No, saying low support needs is not the same as high functioning! Masking exists outside of autistic spaces and is critical more than ever! And saying I’m impaired, not disabled is just ableist semantics!

And a reminder as always that if your advocacy for autistic folks doesn’t go beyond using proper terminology or preferred terms, it’s largely performative! But yes, words have meaning beyond your intention, language is incredibly important, and it’s always worthwhile to take the time to respect it! 💚
