Transparent Oil Filter: Dry vs Pre filled – Unexpected Result

We test the filling time of the engine's lubrication system with the help of a custom-made transparent oil filter. We test an empty filter and one pre-filled with oil.

During the experiment we had a pre-filled counterfeit (fake) cheap filter. We showed a problem with the anti-drain valve, which is never visible externally. However, in this experiment, it can be clearly seen.

When the anti-drain valve of the oil filter does not work and does not retain oil, it greatly affects engine wear and causes oil starvation. The conclusion of the experiment is unambiguous: it is necessary to buy quality oil filters.

A pre-filled filter accelerates the filling of the lubrication system at startup, but the time difference is insignificant. It will not damage the engine, even if a dry filter is installed. It is possible to pre-fill the filter and it will not harm the engine either
