There's a ‘genuine fear of debate’ about climate change: Alan Jones

There is a “genuine fear of debate” of the critical issue of climate change, and if we keep announcing policy “based on fear” we are in deep trouble, according to Sky News host Alan Jones.

“I have been around for a while, the greatest policy rubbish being dished up is this business about net-zero carbon dioxide emissions,” Mr Jones said.

“I think the federal government know this net-zero talk is rubbish and what I have called for years an economic suicide note. But they are frightened of the Greens.”

Mr Jones spoke with Nationals Senator Matt Canavan about the issue.

“What this policy is all about, is about shipping the guilt that has inflicted people in our cities, out to areas of the country that they’re very unlikely to visit and see,” Mr Canavan said.

“People in the cities want to continue to obviously drive their cars, fly overseas for a holiday, enjoy life, and then they’re going to net out their sin by imposing a cost on people in country areas.”
