Faux Painting - Marbling. Join Mark Waller in his Lennox Head studio for a detailed faux painting - marbling tutorial. This popular faux painting technique uses only two Atelier Interactive paints - black and white (and a couple of mediums).
Materials Used:
Atelier Binder Medium
Atelier Glazing Liquid
Atelier Slow Medium
Water
Clean rags
Atelier Free Flow Carbon Black (for background only)
Atelier Interactive Titanium White
00:00 - Begin!
00:23 - Seal the canvas
01:13 - Keep the paint mobile
02:20 - Adding white to the underpainting
03:01 - Taking paint off again with a rag
03:50 - Cissing effect
05:52 - Adding veins
06:44 - More missing
07:19 - Adding more veins
09:12 - Strengthening the veins
Mark shows how to create convincing depth in your marbling using cissing technique, how to paint veins in, and also how to fix mistakes! (woops!)
