There is obviously more than one way to invest $1,000 in stocks, but here are a few pointers.

1. 1:25 - You might be fearful regarding your first investment in stocks. This is totally normal. You have probably worked hard for that money, but if you are going to let your money work hard for you than you will have to overcome the fear of losing it. (Learn to invest with the fear!

2. 3:00 - How I invest $1,000 - Typically I invest about 80% of the money I have to invest at the end of month. $800 roughly speaking..... I do this so I have a systematic approach to investing. It is part of my investment strategy.

3. 5:00 - I always believe in building up a cash reserve so that you have money if investment opportunities arise that you were not initially aware of.. I never invest the full $1,000. This also minimizes my risk if the stock goes down after I buy it.

4. 6:18 how many stocks should you try to buy with that $1,000? 1 - 2. I know that seems like it is limiting your options, but narrowing down your investment choices so you are force to pick only 1 - 2 stocks will force you to better research and become a better investor.

5. 7:00 - Diversification. Initially do not worry about diversification. A $1,000 will not make you rich way or the other. You can spread out your risk and diversify your portfolio overtime.

6. 7:30 My long-term goal with stocks is to build a portfolio that will provide me with income for the rest of my life.

7. The need for consistently investing every month. How much can you save and invest each month?

8. 9:10 Above all keep your investing strategy simple. Simple investing strategies can lead to great returns. Do not get bogged down in the detail. It is just $1,000. It is really not that much money anymore.
