Pelvic organ prolapse and bladder leakage

Understanding the pelvis and a woman's symptoms can be difficult. Commonly it is confusing to discern the difference between incontinence (bladder leakage), overactive bladder symptoms and pelvic organ prolapse. What furthers this confusion is that treatment for prolapse may not always improve bladder leakage or bothersome symptoms, even though many times it does. This is a short narrative with the goal to educate. What is the difference between stress incontinence, urge incontinence (overactive bladder), and pelvic organ prolapse.
