Solitary Wasps IV - Sand Wasps

Two of the more common and interesting solitary wasps are Bembix the sand wasp and the cicada killer. Bembix hunts flies and she is unusual in that she cares for her young is a very special way. The cicada killer's name belies this gentle giants peaceful behavior - unless of course you are a cicada. These wasps often form loose colonies and can be watched year after year if their habitat is not disturbed.
