VOA Correspondent Shares Details of Zambia’s President-elect Transition

Zambia's newly elected President Hakainde Hichilema says he plans to unveil a set of economic policies aimed at solving the mineral-rich country's deep economic problems after he takes office next week.

The six-time presidential candidate and the leader of the opposition United Party for National Development, was declared the winner of the presidential poll on Monday, ending incumbent President Edgar Lungu's six-year rule.

VOA correspondent Peter Clottey spoke to VOA’s Vincent Makori on President-elect Hichilema’s transition and how the businessman will tackle Zambia’s economic challenges.
