Colorado’s Dynel Lane case: Woman convicted of cutting out fetus

Michelle Wilkins arrived at the house of a woman named Dynel Lane on March 18, 2015, and they talked for a while. But right before Wilkins left, Lane attacked her, smashing a lava-lamp over her head, knocking her out. Lane then sliced the 26-year-old from hip to hip, cutting out the unborn child. Dynel Lane was sentenced to 100 years in prison for attacking a pregnant Longmont woman, then cutting her baby from her womb.
Lane was found guilty in February 2016 of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and unlawful termination of a pregnancy.
