SIR-RFS Webinar 1/28/21: State of the Art of Robotic Neurointervention
SIR-RFS Webinar: State of the Art of Robotic Neurointervention
Presented by Dr. Vitor Medes Pereira, MD
Professor of Medical Imaging and Surgery
University of Toronto
Original Presentation Date: 1/28/21
Robotic procedures may have many potential benefits, including reduced radiation dose to patients and operators and increased procedural and technical accuracy. We present the result of the world’s first robotic neuroendovascular procedures for the treatment of brain aneurysms. This work has enormous implications for the future of endovascular stroke treatment, especially for patients in rural areas who may have difficulties accessing EVT. These are the patients who could benefit from “remote procedures”.
