Holdings Country Pottery was founded in 1842 by James Holding with the current site being built in 1900 on top of a clay deposit. The reason for the businesses decline is unknown but on the 3rd May 2010 a letter was submitted to Companies House stating 'Nature of business , dormant company'.
There is a large range of pottery that can still be seen from large planters, animal casts and many various styles of pots and jugs. The building itself is wide open to the elements with most of the roof now totally collapsed and certain parts that nature has reclaimed. In the main body of the building the old machinery can still be found and an array of child's toys / trinkets left scattered around the site.
