Slovak Vectron in Czech Republic - ZSSK 383 110 "Kakaovník" - Siemens Vectron "Thundercat"

In June 2020, ZSSK's Vectron locomotive 383 110 received a special livery to communicate responsible rail travel in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, the Slovak Vectrons also started running to Prague with some EuroCity trains.

This short film shows 383 110 at the main station Praha hl.n. as well as on departure from Kolín. This dynamic livery was designed by the Bulgarian train driver Konstantin Planinski, who won a public competition with this concept. While nicknamed "Thundercat" by its creator, Slovak railfans refer to it as "Kakaovník" in reference to the cocao bean plant.

Since entering service in this stunning new paint scheme, "Thundercat" 383 110 has already been deployed on regular services to Košice and Wien, in addition to Praha.

Das sehr dynamische Design der Slowakischen Vectron Lokomotive 383 110 wurde von einem Bulgarischen Lokführer entworfen und soll das Thema verantwortungsvolles Bahnreisen thematisieren. Ab Mitte Juni wurde diese Siemens Lokomotive auf dem EuroCity (EC) Umlauf nach Prag eingesetzt, auch weil die EC-Züge zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch in der Südslowakei in entweder Bratislava oder Nové Zámky endeten, statt bis Budapest durchzulaufen, wobei der Vectron natürlich auch in Ungarn zugelassen ist und es wohl nur eine Frage der Zeit ist bis die 10 ZSSK Vectron auch regelmässige Einsätze im Fahrplanbetrieb nach Ungarn haben.
