Trying the Jimmy White kick bank shot game winner | Your Average Pool Player

Most people know Jimmy White as an unbelievable snooker player with next-level scoring ability and a larger-than-life persona. In the 1990s, Jimmy tried his hand at American pool and tore through lifelong pool players on skill alone. When he came up against all-time great Efren Reyes in the 1999 World Professional Pool Championship, it looked like Jimmy would be going down 9-7, but he stepped up to the plate and bashed an unreal kick bank carom to win the game and force a decider.

In recreating this shot, it became clear not being left-handed was going to be a real problem for me, so I mirrored the footage after whiffing 7 of the shots in a row. After a while I got frustrated, but my frustration was nothing compared to how frustrated Jimmy White must have felt after competing in 6 Snooker World Championship finals and not winning any of them. The life story of Jimmy White is really interesting, and I encourage anyone who's interested to read or watch more about it.

As always, if you want to suggest a shot, let me know in the comments.
