COVID SITUATION IN MUKURU

COVID-19 has made education very difficult for the children of Mukuru Kwa-Njenga. Access to online learning material is very challenging since most parents cannot afford android phones let alone computers. If they are lucky to own one, internet access is spotty at best. The closure of schools in Kenya was abrupt not providing the teachers the opportunity to prepare the students for studies and revision at home.
At the G-thamini offices, we are printing revision materials and learning games for these children. The teachers are playing an important role in supporting what the organization is doing in regards to the revision work so necessary for the students.
In this interview, Recky, one of our staff members, interviews Mr.Nzioka, a teacher, about about the educational situation in Mukuru during COVID-19.
