Pro Tools | First - How to use ASIO4ALL (AAE 6xxx Error, Interface Errors)

Are you getting AAE 6117 Errors in Pro Tools First, or errors that say you need to switch audio devices, or you are not getting any sound from Pro Tools First on Windows? The problem is likely that you are not using an ASIO Compliant device, which is required.

ASIO4ALL will allow you to use Pro Tools First without an ASIO interface and will route the audio through your PC speakers. This applies to Windows only.

After installing ASIO4ALL, PT First should automatically select that driver for use. If it does not, simply choose it as the Playback Engine as shown in the video. If PT First will not launch, hold down the 'N' key while PT First is starting up, and choose ASIO4ALL as your Playback Engine.

If your routing is not correct (not hearing sound) consult the ASIO4ALL manual for instructions. There are too many possible configurations for me to cover. Most of the time, in my experience, the I/O should be set correctly automatically.
