1960s Lionel 773 Hudson

This is not a fixit video -- it's a little educational video about the 773 Hudson. I start by showing you the 1950 773, which is sought after because it was only made for one year, was high-quality, and came with the best diecast tender Lionel ever made, the 2426W (this tender also was standard with the early 726 Berkshires). For some reason Lionel brought back the Hudson, with slightly less detailed valve gear, from 1964-1966, and with a smaller plastic tender. This one is like new, and I have replaced the stock underpowered Hudson motor with a Gold Seal High Stack motor, which was developed by Lionel for the Hudson to correct low pulling power issues, but the Hudson was discontinued by the time this motor was created. You can still get the motor if you look, and while the 773 goes a slower, more realistic speed than most Lionel trains, the High Stack motor adds a great deal of pulling power.
