Automated soil moisture detection | Raspberry Pi Project

I go over how to create a circuit & program to use the "FC-28" soil moisture detector's digital output to report on moisture of soil within a jar. I use a raspberry pi to do this but an Arduino would do just fine. Any microcontroller with a general purpose input pin will work fine, actually.

This is part of a larger project build I am doing where i intend to create a device that will automate the growing of a plant. These projects are popularly called space buckets & more often than not used to conceal the growth of illegal substances / plants. I won't be doing that, but I will go over how to set up and use all major components necessary for such a device to function. Hopefully, when complete, I will create a video on how to integrate all these devices into a complete 'spacebucket' or 'automated planter device' system.
