Female elephant calf Mkhaya is shown during her first month of life at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The youngest member of the herd — born Sept. 26 to mother Umngani (pronounced OOM-gah-nee) — was named for a wildlife reserve in the southern African nation of Swaziland.
