Sabri Brothers : Sar E La Makan Se Talab Hui (Balaghal Ula Be Kamalehi) - Live In Pakistan, 1992

Shahenshah E Qawwali : Ustad Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri & Ustad Haji Maqbool Ahmed Sabri performing one of their greatest creations, one of their most popular and all time blockbuster hit qawwali during a live concert. This Naat was inspired from a rubaai written by Hazrat Sheikh Saadi Shirazi, later Hazrat Ambar Ali Shah Warsi wrote this kalam as Sar E La Makan Se Talab Hui and asked The Sabri Brothers to recite it as a Qawwali which proved to be a milestone blockbuster hit and not only established The Sabri Brothers as the greatest qawwali artists of all time but also changed the world of Qawwali Music forever.

I remember reading the story behind the creation of this Qawwali, It's said that Hazrat Ambar Ali Shah Warsi (A Sufi Saint who lived in the 20th Century) was inspired by Hazrat Amir Khusro's marvelous Persian Kalam Nami Danam Che Manzil Bood, and Hazrat Ambar Warsi wanted to write a similar kind of kalam in Urdu. He was in the courtyard of Al Masjid Al Nabvi, Madina when he thought about writing this kalam and when his eyes gazed upon the sky he saw the words Sar e La Makan Se Talab Hui Soo e Muntaha Wo Chale Nabi written on sky. Believing this as a sign of blessing from The Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), Hazrat Ambar Ali Shah Warsi wrote this kalam and the rest is history as this kalam became one of the greatest qawwalis ever sung in the history of music and established it's original singers/creators Ustad Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri & Ustad Haji Maqbool Ahmed Sabri as the greatest qawwali artist of all time.

The Sabri Brothers were the original creators and singers of this Qawwali, The melody of this Qawwali is composed by Ustad Haji Maqbool Ahmed Sabri.This particular live recording is one of my most favorite versions of this Qawwali, A very beautiful, relaxing, soulful, and melodious rendition by The Legendary Ustad Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri & Ustad Haji Maqbool Ahmed Sabri.
