CORRECTION: 4:53; measurement of the seam allowance. When the fabric is lined up with the 5/8ths mark, your machine will remove 3/8th fabric. This combined with the fabric within the serged seam totals 5/8ths.
When the fabric is lined up with the 3/8ths the total seam allowance including the cut off strip will equal 3/8ths.
