How did the UK help older people after Ebola? | Age International

The outbreak of Ebola in West Africa devastated communities. Thousands died, and businesses collapsed as people were forced to stay in their homes to stop the spread of the virus. Older people were among the hardest hit.

With donations from the UK public, Age International invested in older people, helping them to restart the businesses they used to have, and begin new ventures. Best of all, the interest from the loans is paid back into the investment scheme, meaning more older people can be helped in the future.

Now older people can care not only for themselves, but for their loved ones, today and tomorrow.
