Lake Winnipesaukee 2019 - Is it Heaven?

This video highlights a recent trip we took to the town of Meredith, New Hampshire, which is on Lake Winnipesaukee. While there, we watched a great fireworks show, attended a drag race, delivered mail via boat and a lot of other fun stuff, but to me, the best part was just grabbing a chair and sitting in Hesky Park, watching all the people and the boats on the lake.

I'm a photographer by trade and make videos using a DSLR as part of my job, but I've never really gotten into taking videos for personal use. I've been taking pictures for years and they have told many stories through, and now I've decided to compliment my photos by taking videos whenever we do anything exciting.

Photos are wonderful, but when combined with words and music, videos can tell a different kind of story and bring back some great memories.

I've always enjoyed discovering new places, but because I've always taken photos, I sometimes missed out on "being in the moment" because I was busy taking photos rather than enjoying what we were doing. Because of that, I've decided to concentrate my personal videography solely on using a smart phone. It's definitely different than a DSLR with its huge depth of field, but I learned a ton from shooting this video and already know how I can make things better.

A couple days before we left for New Hampshire, I ordered a Movi Freefly gimbal from B&H, a Comica mic from Amazon and practiced with my iPhone 10S Max for a couple hours before we had to leave. I quickly figured out the app, but sometimes I forgot to double check focus or something because everyone saw the gimbal and big, furry mic and kept asking me what it was, and what I was doing.
