The House Concert: "Embers," by Coyote Willow
Bend Americana duo Coyote Willow recently performed a few songs from the band's fifth record, "Embers," at The House Concert.
The band — comprised of married couple Tim Coffey, 65, and cellist/singer Kat Hilst, 62 — was founded in 2010 in Bend when the two met in Central Oregon's music scene.
Their new album was years in the making. The couple had played rough versions of the five songs on “Embers” for a few years before recording them. In late 2019, the duo began workshopping the tracks with Nashville songwriting consultant Kari Estrin. That collaboration took Coyote Willow’s songs to a new level. The album was released in April.
