USB Solar Chargers - Are they any good? - 12v Solar Shed

I was at a music festival last week and wondering if there was a useful way to charge your phone when you've no access to mains power.

I decided to buy one of these USB Solar Panel Chargers which I have avoided up until now because fo the seemingly silly pictures used to advertise the things.
