Fixing dim screen on a Yamaha TSX-130 digital radio

I’ve had this radio plugged in and used daily for nearly a decade. The display always dimmed automatically in low light but gradually lost brightness overall.

Thankfully clever people have done the hard diagnosis work and left instructions on Badcaps.

For comprehensive details see eelliott’s post in the Badcaps Forums https://badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=68661. His method involves fully dismantling the innards but he does suggest that it is possible to do without removing the power supply, as shown here.

I used the capacitors and one of the parts vendors suggested in that forum post.
