Fort Benning Tour including Airborne training area

This video begins with 20 min of roadtrip video that includes scenes of brooklyn, the verrazano bridge, the goethals bridge (named for a West Point graduate who built the panama canal), etc. Arrival in Atlanta is filmed including coverage of the cnn center, which is amazing. Atlanta, by the way, was very impressive. A small detour to fix the car includes our first dose of severe weather and then arrival in the Fort Benning area is covered, which included dinner at the cannon brewpub in columbus, georgia. My son's 2LT roommate (usma 11) does a fine job describing his swedish family roots that pre-date the american revolution, prior to our actual arrival at Fort Benning. The base, by the way, is huge and you could spend hours driving around it. This video gives good coverage of the entrance and many buildings you see as you drive around. Eventually, the airborne training area is encountered and we get to visit the monuments dedicated to the famous airborne jumps made over the years. Right nearby you also get to see the large field where ground based training takes place. On the way back to Atlanta, we get a dose of "severe thunderstorm weather" that includes lightning, several tiny tail like clouds at 55 min mark and severe rain at the airport.
