📋 **𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆** 📋
There are several hypotheses on the origin of the name "Panicale": one makes it derive from pan colis, that is "place where panic is grown" (a cereal similar to millet); another, the most probable, from Pani Calet, i.e. "place where altars burn for the god Pan".
