Watches And Wonders 2022 SHOCKER From Patek, 5326 Release, The Calatrava 5196 has been discontinued!

As a Patek Philippe fan and an owner I got an email this morning regarding ther 12 new watches at Watches and Wonders 2022, focusing on the new 5236G. The 5326 is an awesome watch with an annual calendar, a moonphase and a GMT complication. A less complicated model the 5226 is available as well both in white gold.

I was surprised (shocked) that the 5196 has been discontinued on their website. This is their watch that is descendant from the 96 watch which was the first wrist watch developed under the Stern family. Despite the hype over the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 and the Aquanaut, the 5196 is the model that defines the look of Patek Philippe. I believe a new version perhaps a 6196 will be released as a rare handcraft model before its more general release available in yellow, white and roles gold as well as platinum and maybe a diamond version to follow later.

Highlights include two treasured models that beautifully demonstrate the manufacture’s vintage contemporary aesthetic, now available with rose-gilt opaline dials; four references with green dials in subtly varying shades; and a groundbreaking technical timepiece – the Ref. 5326G – featuring a combination of complications never before seen on a Patek Philippe wristwatch. Patek Philippe’s latest technical achievement is the Ref. 5326G, which features a new self-winding movement, caliber 31-260 PS QA LU FUS 24H, that called for eight patent applications. The timepiece combines, for the first time, an Annual Calendar – which requires only one manual correction per year – with the Travel Time dual-time-zone display system. An exquisite array of treasured decorative techniques adorns Patek Philippe’s latest collection of 59 rare handcraft models. On display to the public in an exhibition at the Geneva Salons from 6 to 23 April, 2022, the show explores themes of Geneva and its lake, tropical jungles, and landmark aeronautical pursuits.
