Titanic, Lusitania, and Normandie Cutaways on the Queen Mary
If you've visited the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, you've almost certainly seen the expertly crafted cross-section cutaway models on the Promenade Deck. Featured alongside the Queen Mary Builder's Model and a few smaller models, you'll find three 1/48 scale replicas of the Titanic, the Lusitania, and the Normandie. Each ship has her port side cut off to show the viewer the detail inside from the keel to the boat decks.
Meet Father Roberto Pirrone, the talented modeler who built these ships starting when he was 15 years old and hear about the effort put into them and the stories behind them. Father Pirrone works on these one day a week on his day off as a Catholic Priest. Father Pirrone also has helped our team with some of the research for our game, and we've helped him with some references for his newest model, a redo of his original Titanic cutaway.
