DIY hot tanking the engine block and pistons

Let me start off by saying that engines are NOT my thing. I researched this heavily before proceeding. This particular engine is a 5.0HO that will be powering my 1947 ford pickup. It sat for a few years, had some rust buildup in the coolant passages and needed to be 'cleaned out. After its cleaned up it will be rebuilt by my buddy.

Soak 1: mean green and dish soap
Soak 2: oil eater and dish soap
Soak 3: hot water and dish soap
Soak 4: hot water only
Scrub down
Pickle with WD40
