Robert Downey Jr has been practicing Wing Chun since 2003. He has credited his training as helping him beat his drug addictions.

In the Sherlock Holmes Movies:
Although Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes stories called what Sherlock practiced as Baritsu (aka Bartitsu), the majority of the fighting in the movies was based upon Wing Chun. The fight choreographer for the 2009 movie has described the movie's fighting as "neo-Bartitsu" developed for that project as being a combination of "Chinese Boxing (Wing Chun), swordplay and some elements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Also, Robert Downey Jrs. real-life Wing Chun teacher, Eric Oram, worked with him extensively on this movie and is another one of the fight consultants for both the original Sherlock in 2009 as well as Game of Shadows in 2011.
