Tribute to Ubbe Ragarsson, my favorite son of Ragnar. If you do take the time to watch, the second sequence of this video has my entire heart in it. Ideas that kept coming to me for weeks before.

Once again I feel Vikings call me back to edit it. Ubbe was my favorite of Ragnar’s sons. I felt he was the most like his father and his connection to the world was palpable. He was committed to keeping peace with his family and finding a new way of living. It was difficult not to love that hopeful aspect of his Character. I wanted to show in this video, how similar he was to Ragnar and how both he and Ragnar maintained their love with and for Floki. This video really developed for me in such an unexpected way. There have been many strange moments for me since I began video editing. One example is when I hit a flow state while editing and it feels as if its no longer me creating this story but instead the story is creating itself; Like the stories want to exist and be told in this fashion. But a realization came to me while editing this video, for the first time in my life I allowed myself to say out loud that, this, is what I want to do with my life. I want to edit/ create stories that want to exist. These edits have been truly therapeutic for me. It is my sincere hope that this edit finds its way to fans of the show.

I believe stories (and how we share them) have the ability to reshape our lives and teach us lessons that we might normally not come upon without hardship.
