Cyclone Alert: Low-Pressure Area Over Bay of Bengal May Intensify; Heavy Rain Forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert as a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 27. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Odisha, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Odisha on October 27–28. Residents are urged to stay cautious and follow official advisories.
