LOVE AFFAIR (Fully Closed Captioned)

Michel Marnet (Charles Boyer) and Terry McKay (Irene Dunne) meet on a ship and fall in love. Unfortunately, they are both engaged to be married to someone else. They agree to meet six months later, on July 4th at the top of the Empire State Building, if neither of them has married. Their meeting never happens as Terry is run over as she reaches the Empire State Building. Michel, believing she has married, carries on, but can’t get her out of his mind. He takes up painting and is unable to bring himself to sell his favorite work, a painting of Terry wearing a special scarf. At a chance meeting on Christmas Eve, Michel tries to discover what happened. He is awestruck when he goes into a room of her house and finds his painting, which he had given away to a poor woman in a wheelchair.
