Teaching Law as a System with the Access to Justice Game

This session is presented as part of the DemocracyXChange Festival (https://democracyxchange.org/).

The Ontario Justice Education Network (www.ojen.ca) runs public legal education programs for youth and supports teachers in bringing law into their classrooms, especially in Law and Civics courses.

OJEN created the Access to Justice simulation game as a tool for introducing students to the way legal institutions and services in Ontario work as a system. Teachers and youth leaders have used the game to start conversations with young people about justice, fairness, and how people navigate the system when dealing with common legal problems.
